#2 splits (GN0074) are the thicker 4.5”x 9”x 2” brick that lie transversely on the bottom of the combustion chamber. All brick sold at GARNparts have a service temperature of 2,850 F. Standard “fireplace” brick will not survive the high temperatures generated within a GARN® WHS unit.
Simply count the number of bottom bricks in the combustion chamber and reorder an equal number of the same size. The 1/4” thick brick pad should be replaced when replacing firebrick.
