#1 splits (GN0073) are the thinner 4.5” x 9”x 1.25” brick that stand on edge along the sides of the combustion chamber. All brick sold at GARNparts have a service temperature of 2,850 F. Standard “fireplace” brick will not survive the high temperatures generated within a GARN® WHS unit.
Simply count the number of side bricks in the combustion chamber and reorder an equal number of the same size. The 1/4” thick brick pad should be replaced when replacing firebrick.
