Digital Controller Retrofit Kit / Fits GARN® Model WHS 1000 (GARN® Junior)
Each Kit Includes:
• Digital Controller (GN0068)
• Low Water Cut-Off / Temp Sensor Stem (12 in) with Mounting Fitting for 1000 GARN® Junior (GN0093)
• Flue Temp Sensor / Thermocouple with Bushing (GN0055)
• Return Pipe / HWR Temp Sensors (GN0058)
• Supply Pipe / HWS Temp Densors (GN0057)
• Optional: Outdoor Temp Sensor Sold Separately (GN0056)
The digital controller utilizes a pre-programmed chip that is upgradeable as control improvements are developed. In addition, the digital controller and its related sensors can be retrofitted to almost all existing GARN® WHS units with minor alterations dating back to 1990. This controller is a significant improvement over the analog timer controller that it replaces (units produce before 2010). The new digital controller was developed to perform the following functions:
- Eliminates GARN® WHS User to Set Induced Draft Blower Timer (Based on Estimated Fuel Load Size, Wood Species, or Estimated Moisture Content)
- Increases Efficiency by Eliminating Blower Operation Beyond the Termination of Combustion
- Provides Digital Readout of Flue Gas and Thermal Storage Temperatures
- Provides Digital Readout of Hot Water Supply and Hot Water Return Temperatures
- Terminates Blower Operation Upon Unexpected Thermal Storage Water Loss
- Displays the Duration of Burn (Hours + Minutes) Following Termination of Combustion
- Simple Installation, NO Drilling, Tapping or Gluing
